I HUMBLY ASK THAT YOU READ THIS IN FULL:
What is it?:
Well, this year marks 20 years since the release of 'Wikked lil Grrrls' and now for the first time ever, you can get it on wax, (colored wax to be specific, pink & purple, yay! )
I've included the infamous feature that was left off the original cd release and added some favs from the Musical Revolution ep. I've also reordered the track listing for a better listening experience in this format....trust me, it's a whole vibe..
Here's what you get:
Record 1, Side A)
1. Dragonfly's Intro (feat. Jemeni),
2. Blanket Me In You
3. We R in Need of A Musical Revolution

5. Wikked Lil' Grrrls feat. Graph
Record 1, Side B)

*I've also gathered together a very cool collection of unreleased b-sides & live versions of songs as a companion package, available to download immediately with purchase:
1. Nearly Civilized demo. (yep, for real)
2. 1st Demo of Everyday is a Holiday
3. I Get Down (unreleased b-side)
4. Amber and Tiger's eye (not available digitally anywhere else)
5. OG Bitch (live rehearsal 2005)
6. Bad Boy Clyde (live at the Metro, Chicago 2005)
7. Joey (live in San Francisco 2005)
Here's what else is special about it: Not only is it a small run of 300, but every single one will be 1 of a kind because I've had custom logo stickers made and I will be placing one on every single cover myself by hand, so every record cover will be a little different and I'm so excited about this, tbh.
There is also an option for you to add my signature and your favorite lyric to make it even more unique. *Please write the lyric you want in the notes when you purchase, otherwise I will just pick intuitively.
Ok, so now I want to tell you WHY this is SO important to me:
Some of you may remember the 25th anniversary pressing of Breath From Another that was sold exclusively in Urban Outfitters, released in 2023.
Yeah, well working with Sony on that was a BIG mistake. I don't want to focus too much here on complaining about the past, so i'll give you the bullet points:
-I paused working on new music to work with SONY and poured my heart, soul and time into making that release super special for you, and they F*CKED me. Like royally, and in multiple ways.
-You guys also got f*cked because Urban's too tight packaging warped many of those records.
-Life altering info was withheld from me, most importantly that I was the exception to Urban's exclusive right to sell it- so on that very first presale day I directed all of you to Urban Outfitter's website and you guys (in true badass form) bought 1000 records from them in 12 hours (you actually blew right through their 750 online presale cap -which apparently hadn't been done before, and temporarily confused their system, it was amazing!)
- Had I known that I was also permitted to purchase directly from SONY and sell them directly on my site to you, I would have obviously directed you to me first, with the option of signed copies, as I know many of you, like me, love a personal touch and also would have preferred to spend your hard earned money in a way that directly supports me rather than line the pockets of these large companies.
This was only revealed to me long after that first excited wave of sales, likely because Sony wanted to maximize their chances of a repeat order from Urban.
- This resulted in the loss of about $100,000 - $150,000 in earnings for me. That's not hypothetical.
(What I made instead was something in the ballpark of about $6000 - for a year's worth of work. I won't get into the other stuff they did right now, that will come to light, but for time and sanity's sake let's leave that to another day.)
-When I tried to fight for myself, in regards to all their f*ckery, and get Sony to come to some agreement to compensate me fairly/uphold their end of the deal, they spent the better part of a year stonewalling me and then they refused to go to small claims court, knowing I could not afford to litigate in federal court.
It was all just so exhausting, and I fought as hard and as long as I could but it really took a toll on me and I just couldn't live that way anymore, I needed to put that fight away for another time, when I have the means and better armor.
Which brings us to THIS moment:
This time: I'm not partnering with anyone.
This time: I'm not asking anyone for permission.
This time: I'm betting on MYSELF.
I won't be asking anyone, especially not some suited up corporate putz, to treat me fairly, or be put into a position to have to fight for what I am owed.
This is MY legacy, and I should get to earn on the legacy that I have built and the work that I have done.
So I've saved up and invested the little I have to do this vinyl run, and I'm betting on me and betting on YOU, because it's ALWAYS been you that has lifted me up and shown me my worth. THIS is the relationship that has always nourished me and fed me - both spiritually and literally -so FUCK these labels: I'm betting on US.
WHEN we breeze through this first pressing, and I know we will, I'll run another, and another, each time in different colors, you're gonna help me choose, and we will keep doing these little runs until we reach the goal.
Here's the goal: Let's quietly sell 1000 of these. The same number of records I sold for Urban and Sony in just 12 hours.
Help me make $100,000 under the radar by myself like a MFin' gangster
LIFE ALTERING - reaching this goal will mean the world to me.
It will mean being able to be near my mom. It will mean new music, actually properly finished, it will mean playing live again, and it will mean some much needed deep relief and freedom.
I love you.
Forever, and gratefully your Wikked Lil Grrrl
LET'S GOOOOOO!
*I've just approved the test pressings, yay!. It will take about 4 weeks to press this lot, so I would say I'll be ready to ship in mid-end of Sept*.
